Welcome to the 9th year, 2011, of Elizabeth Farmers Market (EFM)

Our Mission Statement:  To provide a friendly, convenient and reliable direct-marketing connection between customers and growers for reasonably priced Jo Daviess county homegrown, homemade, and handmade items

In 2008, the Jo Daviess County Health Dept  took a more active role in the farmers markets.  As a result, please contact the Health Dept. (815-777-0263) to see what is needed for your operation to do business.  All vendors shall abide by all federal, state, municipal laws, rules, & regulations. Each vendor is responsible for their own booth.

You should also consider liability insurance for your market activities.  There is no insurance of any kind associated with market membership or provided by St. Paul’s.

Market is every Friday at the St. Paul Lutheran Church, 411 W. Catlin, Elizabeth, IL.   Market begins on first Friday in May (Spring Fling weekend) Snow, Rain, or Shine, and runs until the last Friday in October.  Market runs from 3 p.m. until 6 p.m.  Set-up time starts after 2 p.m.   Tear down should be done by 7 p.m.

EFM is open to Jo Daviess County vendors of homegrown, homemade, or handmade items.  Exceptions are made on a case-by-case basis for vendors from neighboring counties.

To show our sincere thanks to St. Paul Church we collect a $20 fee, which is non-refundable, for the use of the parking lot.  Mail the $20 check, money order, or cashier’s check payable to the Elizabeth Farmers Market with your name, address, & phone number to Sara Sullivan, 5257 S. Tower Rd., Elizabeth IL  61028.  Annual dues run from May to October.  There are no partial dues or refunds.   To be a good market, we need to keep regular vendors coming.  One time setups are permitted but discouraged. There is no bathroom or use of electricity or water.  If you are selling for a non-farmers market member please encourage your associate to join the market or make a donation of $20 to St Paul’s Church.

All vendors are responsible for picking up any greens, litter, paper, garbage, etc. in their area before leaving.

There is no assigned parking unless otherwise directed; we will first occupy the west side of the church parking lot, keep the line pulled forward so that street access, highway access, & the lower entry of the parking lot are not blocked.   We want to keep customers moving from vendor to vendor down the line, rather than encouraging customers skipping or cutting corners.  Fill in the line so there are no gaps.  The market is set up that you can sell from the back of your vehicle.  Please keep display around the width of your vehicle so there is walking room for you & the people next to you. If all slots on the West side of the parking lot are occupied, begin filling the sidewalk side of the lot but do not block the lower driveway or the entrance to the church.   The third line will be along Rt. 20 in front of sign & go east.  Fourth line is east side of parking, leaving an entrance at both ends.
